Where Is The Falling Skies News?

In our most recent podcast episode posted 02/19, we discussed the lack of Falling Skies news over this long hiatus.  Many of our listeners chimed in via Facebook and twitter, about what they thought TNT should be doing to maintain interest in the show over these extended breaks of approximately ten months.

Most of the suggestions centered around longer seasons, more behind the scenes or other videos, and more interaction with the fans via social networks.  Many of us felt that TNT did a better job engaging fans between the first and second season, and even then, their ratings still dropped by a significant amount.  Perhaps TNT felt that spent too much time or payroll on attempting to utilize the social media outlets via the last hiatus without the desired results.

I took a look of the ratings for season one and season two over at Wikipedia.  The second season saw a 21.76% drop in ratings, that's 1.042 million less viewers per episode.  The average ratings for the ten episodes of season one was 4.788 million viewers, while the average ratings of the ten episodes of season two was 3.746 million viewers.  If the ratings decline in a similar fashion for season 3, the average would be down to 2.93 million viewers per episode.

Since 2013 began, the Falling Skies Facebook Page and FallingSkiesTNT on twitter have posted a few questions about previous seasons, a few pictures,  but no info about the upcoming season three which will probably debut on Father's Day 2013.
The latest update on FallingSkies.com is a blog post from Collin Cunningham from November 1, 2012 where he suggested that we need to know the name Rob Gray, the Falling Skies Production Designer.  The latest update on from Falling Skies producer/director Greg Beeman's website is a blog post from September 30, 2012, where he answers many fan questions.

The Falling Skies Cast will keep you updated here, on Facebook and on Twitter during this very long hiatus.  We also plan to have a monthly podcast during the break.  Call or text us at (773) 35SKIES or email your feedback to fallingskiescast@gmail.com.
